Serie Dominicana de Drift Round 1.

"Driftin is the fastest growing motor-sport in the world" -D1NZ

Yes, in Dominican Republic we Drift. Yes we, as in me (expect an entry on my drift project in the works)

Drifting in the Dominican Republic has been growing since 2002. In 2009, it took a huge step when Formula D drivers, Calvin Wan and Casper Canul, came and did a great demo. Since then, the game has stepped up and drivers have gotten their game on.

Last Sunday April 12, 2011, Dominican Republic celebrated its first Round of the Serie Dominicana de Drift. Heres my overview through my lens:

Since early morning, drivers were starting to get ready. White s13 driven by: Audrey Liriano, first female Dominican Drifter.

The level of concentration from the drivers was intense.

Eugenio Alfau with his S14 zenki giving the crowd a great show with his pink car and pink tires

New drivers like Leo Cusco were there giving it their best shot.

Riandys Helena (blue S14.5) Vs. Lucas Jimenez (R32).

Aldo Martinez with his "Calabaza" 240sx with massive angle.

Here we have Carlos Rodriguez with his Grey R34 4door. We call it the "Ship".

Luis Lizardi (Puertorican) in his bmw E36, Traveled by ferry all the way from Puerto Rico to Dominican Republic in order to compete in the series. Vs. Jarrengton De Leon in his white R33

Driver Victor Madera interacting with fans after a very adrenaline rushed day.

This has been my overview of the Serie Dominicana de Drift Round 1. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

The Journey Begins..

Hi, my name is Luis Guerrero and i am a car junky. I live in Dominican Republic, a place where it is said to have more Mercedes per square inch than any other caribbean, or American country. I live in this amazing islands where exotic and race inspired cars can be spotted on a daily basis. Why not document it? I will bring you guys the "creme de la creme" in exotics, race cars, events, shows, everything car related you can think of.  Here is where my car hunting experience begins. Hope you enjoy it.
